Eye Candy - Home Decor

After living in our new apartment for 8 months, I have finally decided.....we need something on our walls!! Can you believe that we have no decor on our walls??? I love color and patterns but when you look at my living room and dining room, you cannot tell. I am the type of person that can recreate anything. If I find a picture frame I like but its $300, I can recreate it for way less than that. If I find pillows that I like, but they are way out of my budget, I'm going to recreate it!

I was searching on flickr for some ideas. Look what I found!

Pretty pictures!! Once I start feeling better, I am going to get started on a home decor project! I need some more color in my life!

DIY - Glam Girl Party Theme

My niece is such a glam girl! (I like to think I'm rubbing off on her, lol!) My sister lives next door and we all see each other everyday! I love it! Her daughter's 6th birthday was coming up so my sister and I were trying to come up with ideas. I am very crafty and creative & my sister was willing to do whatever just as long as it looked good. So the creativness began...

My niece loves being girly, so we decided to have a "Glam Girl Party."

First I made her a pink tutu, dolled her up, took pictures, and made her invites. Here is a picture of her invite & a couple from her party.

Her whole party was DIY. We made the banner (& the tissue flower on the top right of the banner), cupcake stands, THE CUPCAKES (Yummmmy!), cupcake decor, birthday picture frame, pictures on the goody bags, "6" flowers art work (behind the cupcakes) and much more! You can't see other things, but we made 3 different kind of sandwiches, rice crispies, and custom picture frames (inside the goody bags). We received compliments the whole time, which made all the hard work worth it!

Update

Hey everyone!! :D

I'm back from my little break! Sometimes when you're so busy doing a million different things, you forget to take time for yourself. That was me. But I am back! I am all energized and inspired! I have many ideas, plans, goals, and projects I'm already starting on. I have been doing a lot of DIY [do it yourself] things lately, and I just have to share!

I'm watching the final episode of this season's Project Runway on my DVR! <3 There are way too many commercials. I love fast forwarding! I hope Mando wins! <3...I will find out in 20 minutes who wins!! lol.

The iPhone Cases

Did you know that cell phones cases are now an accessory?

First of all, let me say, if you purchase one of these iPhone cases, be prepared for attention and comments from everyone! Seriously! I first started selling the cell phone cases about a year ago. I wanted something no one else had and something really unique. The first day I took my cell phone case to school, I got so much attention! The next week I went on a trip to New York and made a stop in North Carolina. Needless to say, everyone I came into contact with, commented on how awesome the phone case was and asked where they could get one.

I will be adding 10 iPhone cases to the website later this week. They are one-of-a-kind and can not be remade. I do accept custom orders on iphone cases. You can choose the color stones, the "extra" components (like the flower, cameo, large stone), and even the iphone case color. If I have all the supplies in stock, an iPhone case can be made and shipped within 5 days. If I have to order any supplies, the time can take 2 weeks or more.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Pic from flickr (and no my name is not Chiara but the cupcake is too cute!)

My 24th birthday is in a few hours. Yippe! Haha. I'm excited about growing old....is that weird? Like, I can't wait to be 30! You should see people's faces when I say that, lol. All my other friends who have celebrated their birthdays, are all stressing out or "feeling old" and I'm totally opposite! I'm glad I'm getting older. I guess I'm just ready for the next stage in my life. I'm happy with my life right now (but of course it's not perfect). I'm ready to see what is in store, I'm ready for change.

I am making my own birthday cake. Actually my mom is making me a birthday cake and I am making some cupcakes. Before you feel bad or have negative feelings, we love baking! (I just made some white almond cupcakes from SCRATCH the other day...delish!) Everytime I have a get together, or party :) , at my house, I always have to either bake some cupcakes or make some chocolate covered strawberries or candy. I had a graduation party and we had alittle bit of everything. My chocolate covered strawberries were the first things gone! Yummy!! So my birthday cupcakes with be white chocolate with raspberry buttercream and my cake will be a vanilla bean with strawberry buttercream. Yea.... I can forecast lots of exercising after this weekend. Tomorrow I will be celebrating with my boyfriend, Friday with my Mom, and Saturday with my boyfriend's family, & Sunday I'll be with my sisters. Lots of celebrating! Come Monday, I'll be exercising 2-3 times a day, gotta work the sweets off! Well....I'm off to go rest...I have a busy weekend ahead!

Life After Graduation & Goals

So I graduated from a University about a month ago. That is crazy to believe! Going to school is something I did...pretty much 99% of my entire life. I have been so busy these past few weeks, that I haven't even took time to realize what kind of accomplishment that was. In my family, I am the first grandchild(out of 17 grandchildren, plus 6 great-grandchildren) to have any kind of college degree and the 2nd person, in my whooooole family to have a college education. Whoa.

I feel excited and anxious to move on with my life. I have accomplished my first major goal and now I feel very confident that I can continue with my next major goals (buy a new car, a house, have a family, and open up my own boutique). I believe goals are important in life. If you are not aiming for anything, then what is the point of living? I have a lot of mini-goals as well as BIG goals. I am a person who enjoys instant gratification. I celebrate the small accomplishments in order to keep myself motivated and aiming to move on.

The best advice I can give to someone who has goals that seem unreachable is to think positive. I have a few friends who already have families and who think it is impossible to finish their degrees. I tell them to concentrate on the positiveness (is that even a word? haha..it is now.) My friend is three classes away from getting her Associate's degree. She complains that it will take four more years to get a Bachelor's degree going part-time. I told her to think...In four more years, I will accomplish something big and be able to take care of my family better. Although you will be sacrificing things for four more years, the rest of your life will benefit from this. Thinking positive is what got me through. Something I truely believe in.

So set goals(small & big) and celebrate accomplishments.
